Admissions Procedure

What is the entry procedure?

We operate a selective entry procedure and give priority to siblings of current pupils. Our entrance assessments seek to ensure that the pupils selected will enjoy and benefit from the broad curriculum on offer.

Unfortunately there is no automatic entry from Thomas’s Kindergarten to Reception at Thomas’s Clapham. The registration of any pupil attending Thomas’s Kindergarten will, however, be placed on the Main Registration List for entry to Reception in the appropriate year, thus guaranteeing the offer of an entrance assessment when the time comes. More information about the Kindergarten may be found here.

How do I register my child?

All children must be registered with the School before being considered for a place. As places are oversubscribed we recommend you register your child on birth. We also recommend that children are registered with a number of other schools in case they do not gain entry to Thomas’s Clapham.

All you need to do is complete a Registration Form which can be downloaded here and send it to Emma Allen at the School Office with payment of a £100 registration fee. If you would like to make a BACS transfer please contact Emma on email: and she will be able to send you our bank details (as they are on the form).

Please be aware that a child can only be registered at one of the Thomas’s Schools, and can only be registered once they are born.

Parents are advised to contact the Registrar before registering.

Financial assistance at Thomas’s Schools is available from Thomas’s Schools Foundation. Please visit their website at for further details. Please be aware that it is not possible to apply formally to the Foundation until your child is holding an offer of a place at Thomas's.
