Upper School

The learning journey continues in the Upper School in Years 5 - 8 building on the positive experiences of the Middle School. Pupils take lesson in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, Geography, History, Latin and Religious Studies & Philosophy. Pupils are grouped according to whether they are preparing for an 11+, a 13+ or a scholarship entrance examination for their senior school.

We have a strong pastoral focus in the Upper School. Pupils are assigned a tutor who has overall pastoral responsibility for their group. Tutors in Year 6 focus on the transition into the Upper School and once in Year 7, pupils will have the same tutor for the rest of their time with us.

The school values form the basis of the weekly assembly programme and the PSHE curriculum focuses on developing individuals who are considerate of others, have an understanding of their place in the school and wider communities and can think critically and deeply,  preparing every pupil for life at their senior school and beyond.

Our Pupil Senior Team consists of a Head Boy and Head Girl, Prefects, House Captains and various form positions of responsibility including School Council Representatives, Green Unicorns and ABC (Anti-Bullying Committee) Representatives.
